MacCimsey, Robert, composer, au­thor, singer, lecturer, whistler, radio and recording artist; b. Pineville, La., Sept. 7. ASCAP 1938. Of musical parentage. Educ: Alexandria Bolton High School; studied for "bar at night while secretary to U.S. Senator Rans-dell, Washington; Doctor of Music, Los Angeles Cons, of Music and Arts, 1950. Early musical educ. with mother; boy soprano in church choir. After high school, studied theory, piano, and organ at Inst, of Musical Art; composition with Cesare So-dero; voice with Oscar Seagle. After a year's practice in law, whistled in Gene Austin's recording of "My Blue Heaven." This brought many record-
ing and radio engagements featuring unique ability to whistle in harmony two or three tones simultaneously. At fourteen, began writing songs in folk­song idiom of the South.
